Coming out of your comfort zone and trying new things is always tricky. But once you come out and achieve it, you will enjoy your adrenaline rush.
Hello everyone! This is Mo, In this blog, I will share my first-time solo flight travel experience with you.
This happened when the COVID-19 new variant started cooling down and the travel restrictions started lifting. I had been waiting a long time to travel, which was not possible because of the COVID-19 virus's impact on the whole world. Finally, the time had arrived, and I decided to visit one of India’s cleanest cities, which is Indore. I have pitched my plan to my friends. Guess why most of them dropped out by giving reasons for COVID-19, dates, Expenses, other priority work, etc.
Finally, after a couple of follow-ups, a few of my friends agreed to this. Here is the tricky part: they are from the northern part of India, and they decide to come to Indore directly. But I was from the southern part of India, so I needed to travel alone to Indore. All of a sudden, one of my friends came up to me with a new plan: if you come to Pune one day early, we will visit some beautiful places and have delicious food in Pune, and then we can go to Indore together via road. This plan impressed me, and I said YES!
MISSION INDORE VIA PUNE
I started looking for flights to Pune, and I got a good deal on Skyscanner, so I booked my ticket with Go First Airlines from Bangalore to Pune at 7:30 a.m. IST. Since it was my first time on a flight, I took the window seat. Just a week before the flight, I got a call from Go First Airlines saying that my flight had been rescheduled to 7:00 a.m. IST, and again, just three days later, I received a call from Go First Airlines saying that my flight had been rescheduled to 6:30 a.m. IST.
Web check-in was mandatory, and I completed my web check-in using the link shared by the Go First airline. Since it was my first web check-in, I did some research on how to do a web check-in and got an idea of how it would be. While doing research, I found that Go First Airlines was previously known as Go Air.
THE TRAVEL DAY
As per the guidelines of the airline, they have been informed to reach the airport two hours prior. Since I had a flight at 6:30 AM. At least by 4:30 AM, I should reach the airport. I did some research about the trip to Bangalore Airport. I found we have frequent buses for the airport, and I even Got to know that from my location, a bus takes approximately two hours to reach the airport. Even though I have visited Banglore airport a couple of times with my friends by car, This time it was a completely new experience because I was traveling alone and on a bus. I took the bus at 2:00 AM. There was slight traffic at the initial stop, but I was able to reach the airport twenty minutes early.
I had enough time to explore the Bangalore airport, and I enjoyed the view of the airport. I had carried a trolley and a cabin bag with me. With the help of the machine, I generated a tag for my trolly by using my PNR. I completed my check-in at the Go First airline, and they took my check-in bag attached with a tag and informed me to go to the respective gate at the airport.
I reached the gate and saw a couple of other passengers standing in line for the bus. I, too, joined them. Finally, the bus arrived, and it took us to the Go First aeroplane.
FLYING BETWEEN THE CLOUDS
Once We reached our aeroplane, we started onboarding, starting with a greeting from the air hostess, followed by settling in seats, plugging seatbelts, and being informed about the emergency by the air hostess. Up next, we got an introduction from the captain, and we started down the runway.
We went to the runway, and this was our turn. Our pilot took charge and made us fly. It was so good to feel weightlessness, and my adrenaline started to rush. Yes! This was the movement I was waiting for. There was a beautiful sun out in the sky, with mild rays of light making the clouds slightly red. I was witnessing all this from my window seat and enjoying my time out there.
We were in Pune, and our caption also informed us about the weather out there.
