Dudhsagar Diaries | Water Falls

Dudhsagar_Diaries

In October, one of my friends shared a reel on Instagram regarding a one-day trek to a waterfall from Bangalore. I saw the reels and asked him, Shall we go for it? He said Yes! The waterfall that my friend shared was Dudhsagar.

Hello Everyone! This is Mo😉. Today I am going to share my Dudhsagar experience with you. Once my friend said yes, we pitched this trip plan to other friends, and some of them agreed to it.

We fixed the date as the last weekend of October, and we decided to go by train🚆. While booking tickets, we were a bit confused between the two stations, which are Castle Rock and Kulem. We finalized the Kulem trip and booked our train tickets from Yeshwanthpur railway station🚉 to Kulem railway station🚞.

Dudhsagar, oh how beautiful you are!

We border to Vasco Express from Yeshwanthpur railway station at 3:00 PM. In the initial part, we used to make fun of others and play music. We don't know how fast the time passed🕔🕗; it was dinner time. We ordered dinner on the train, and you know the taste😅. Later, we played UNO cards and slept on the train for a while. At 2:30 AM, we arrived at our destination stop, which was Kulem railway station.

At Kulem railway station, some of the people said you can’t trek to the Dudhsagar waterfalls because the routes have been closed. We were surprised by them😟; later, when we met some other tourists, they informed us that it was open. We got relief from that😃.

We walked towards Kulem town since we were just planning a day trip. We didn’t book our stay. We used paid washrooms to freshen up, and those were kept clean. Then we noticed that the truck would open after 9:00 a.m. Some of the locals saw us and informed us that there are two ways to reach Dudhsagar. One Is via the forest way, where you will be walking between the greens and the water stream🌊, the legal way, and the other is via the railway track🛤, which is an illegal way. They offered us that they would take us to Dudhsagar waterfalls via railway trackway.

We checked about this railway track truck to Dudhsagar Waterfalls and found that if we were guilty, we would have to pay the fine, be sent behind bars for a couple of years, or both. After reading this, we thanked them for the offer and rejected it.

By that time, we were hungry😋. So we planned to have our breakfast at the local hotel. We had Maggie, bread🍞 jam, and a couple of other things for breakfast. We went near the trek point to start our trek. The officers don’t allow us to trek. They informed us they would only allow us if and only if we had a registered guide with us. Then we went on a search for the registered guide for the trek. We got to know there were very few registered guides, and unfortunately, only five of them showed up that day, and they were booked by other tourists.

So now we are left with only one option: to go via Jeep. So we registered ourselves for the Jeep service, and they also informed us to take life jackets for each of us who were planning to play in the water. We rented the life jackets from the nearby store, and we were all set to witness the Dudhsagar waterfalls.

The jeep dropped us at the point, which is approximately one kilometer from the waterfalls. We went on a walk to the top and witnessed the beauty. The Dudhsagar waterfall is so amazing, it was just bliss😍. We jumped into the water with our life jackets, played for a few hours, and enjoyed our time there🏊.

With the help of a jeep, we were back in Kulem City and had our lunch in the local hotel. Then we roomed in Kulem, saw a couple of adventurous activity spots but didn’t try any because we didn’t feel any of them were worth trying, and had snacks in the evening in the local shops. Didn’t like them either, then somehow we spent our time, had our dinner in the hotel, and went to the railway station by 10:00 PM. The train was scheduled for 00:25 AM, we boarded it and dozed off. We arrived at our destination, which is Yeshwanthpur railway station, by 12:35 PM.

So that’s our Dudhsagar story. Do let us know your experience in the comment section.
