We visited one of the cleanest cities in India. This city is not just famous for its cleanliness but also for its tourism, food🍲, cloth👚, and book📚 markets. The City I am talking about here is Indore💗. Even though I have visited many north Indian cities, this one is so special to me and has a lot of sweet memories😊.
Hello Everyone! This is MO😉. Today, I will share my Indore experience with you in this blog. I visited Indore by bus🚌 via Pune. To know how I landed up in Pune, check out our Fly Between the Clouds blog.
Once I landed in Pune, I called my friend, and they said we would meet at Shrimant Misal Aani Barech Kahi for breakfast. I went there and met them, and we ordered Misal. I ate this for the first time, and I fell in love with it from the first bite😋. The ambiance is good. If you are from Pune or are planning to visit Pune, try Misal at Shrimant Misal Aani Barech Kahi. Share your experience in the comment section if you have tasted it already—Shrimant Misal Aani Barech Kahi location.
After the compilation of breakfast, we returned to our stay, got freshened up, visited the mall, and purchased some accessories for the Indore trip. We had our bus in the evening, so we ate some Chat🍟 and waited for the bus. The wait continued🕣🕤, and after a delay of one hour and thirty minutes, finally, our bus arrived🚍. We loaded our luggage and boarded the bus.
We chit-chatted on the bus; further, we had our dinner once the bus stopped near a hotel🏨. After our dinner, we headed to our bed. Thanks to my friend for booking a sleeper bus.
Welcome To Indore
Day 1:
At 8:40 in the morning, we arrived at our destination, which is Radisson Square, Mehidpurwala Furniture, Indore. We booked our stay🏨 in Vijayanagar, Indore, for 5 days and 4 nights. We found that Vijayanagar is located in a better position where we can find good stays or hotels and is near the bus stops🚏.
We checked into our room, freshened up, and had breakfast at the nearby hotel. We ordered Poha, idli, and vada, all of which were delicious😋. We rented a two-wheeler🛵 for four days, which cost us Rs 500 per day.
We started our trip from Lalbag Palace, which has an entry fee of Rs 10 for adults. Lalbagh Palace was built in 1880 for Maharaja Tukoji Rao II of the Holkar dynasty. It is a two-story red sandstone building. Its architecture blends Indian and European styles. Rooms and halls boast intricate carvings and paintings. The palace complex includes a beautiful garden with flowers and trees🌳🌳.LalBag Palace Indore location.
In Lalbag palace We learned about the famous photographer named Raja Deen Dayal, who initially studied engineering but ultimately pursued his passion for photography and achieved great success.
We later visited Kanch Mandir (the Glass Temple). This temple doesn’t have an entry fee. It's a famous Jain temple in Indore. Completed in 1912, it showcases remarkable glasswork. Built by Seth Hukumchand Kasliwal, a renowned textile merchant, the three-story temple houses idols of Lord Mahavira, Lord Parshvanath, and Lord Rishabhdeva. Adorned with glass, it boasts a unique and appealing look. We had a sandwich for lunch in the nearby hotel and then visited Krishnabai Holkar Chhatri. Kanch Mandir Location.
Krishnabai Holkar Chhatri is a memorial to Maharani Krishnabai Holkar, the wife of Maharaj Yashwant Rao Holkar. The chhatri was built in 1849, after the death of Maharani Krishnabai. It is a three-tiered structure with a dome at the top. The chhatri is made of white marble and decorated with intricate carvings. Krishnabai Holkar Chhatri location.
This place was filled with tourists and local visitors, some coming to visit the place and some to take a rest. You know what I mean. We drank tender coconut while leaving Krishnabai Holkar Chatri and started our journey towards Rajwada Palace.
Rajwada Palace It was built in 1747 by Malhar Rao Holkar, the founder of the Holkar dynasty. The palace is seven stories tall and is a blend of Maratha, Mughal, and French architectural styles. It is located in the heart of Indore. The palace was built for Malhar Rao Holkar's wife, Gautamabai Holkar. The construction of the palace began in 1747 and was completed in 1766. Now this has become a museum that displays the Holkars' legacy and possessions of historical relevance. The museum's collection includes weapons, textiles, paintings, jewelry, and royal documents. I was so impressed by the Holkar dynasty's push towards small-scale industries. Rajwada Palace location.
Then we head to ABV Regional Park, also known as Pipliyapala Regional Park, which is a large public park located in Indore. The entry fee is INR 20 for adults and INR 10 for children. It is spread over an area of 80 acres and is home to a variety of attractions, including a lake, a garden, a maze, an amphitheater, and a musical fountain. The park is also a popular spot for boating, cycling, and picnicking. We were tired after rooming here, so we decided to go back and rest for a while before having dinner. ABV Regional Park location.
We then visited the Sarafa Bazar😍 for our dinner. Ohh! It's a food fest. Sarafa Bazar is a famous night food🥘 market in Indore. It is located in the heart of the city, near the Rajwada Palace. The market is open from 9:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., and it is a popular destination for both locals and tourists.
The market is a hive of activity at night, with people milling around the stalls and sampling the wide variety of vegetarian street food. Some of the most popular dishes include dahi vada, Bhutte ka kees, Garadu chaat, Malpua, and Jalebi. There are also several sweet shops in the market where you can buy traditional Indian sweets.
In addition to food, the market also has some other stalls selling souvenirs, jewelry, and other goods. It is a great place to wander around and soak up the atmosphere of the city.
We tried foods like dahi vada, Bhutte ka kees, Jalebi, Sabudana kichadi, Pizza, Gobi, Noodles, Vada Pav, Pav Bajji, Jamoon, Dry Jamoon, Falooda, kulfi, and many other foods. Every Item we tasted here was so delicious😋. We can’t recommend any hotels. Most of the food we had was in the stall, so grab whichever you like to have. Even if your diet is conscious, it is worth a cheat day🙈. We Didn’t even feel like coming out of it, but we had plans to visit Ujjan🛕 tomorrow morning, So we went back to our stay late at night🌃.
